Wisconsin Point

I just found this article while looking up other info. it's about my ancestors fighting US Steel Corp. for the burial site and land at Wisconsin Point. the remains got forcibly relocated to a mass grave on the bank of the Nemadji river. Ive been to both sites over the years. the mass grave is next to the catholic cemetery where several other members of my family are buried.
I am descended from Chief Osagie through Frank Lemieux and his daughter Maggie Martineau, all mentioned as resisters in the article. I had known some of the more general information but this article shed much more light on what happened than I ever thought I'd learn. I cant really describe how this makes me feel.
at least now I know where I get it from... although I cant imagine what they went through.
